3.5 motor after sitting for 4 days started up like it had no oil in it.
So I left town for 4 days and came home tonight. Went to start up my car and it rattled really bad so I shut it off really quick. I let it sit and decided to give it another try and it struggled to start and finally started and rattled less and finally got quiet. The garage smelled like gas after that. I drove it from my parents to my place (15 miles) and it seems fine now.
Anyone else have this issue?

I was thinking that maybe it drained what fuel was in the fuel lines into the motor while sitting for so long but it started right up the first time.

The motor noise at start up? Or just the hard start?
Car running fine now?

Whatever NTB uses. I honestly didn't check. I will remember this and use one when I change my oil next.

having more oil is worse than having low oil. Dont drive on it and drain it. After sitting for a few days it probably just took awhile for the oil pump to get it to all the necessary engine parts. Its like when its cold and you have 10w-30 and the oil light comes on at start for a second or 2. It just takes awhile for it to flow.

You said that was over 1000 miles ago. Why didn't you look over your receipt when you first got it changed? You should always view oil change places as suspect when it comes to your car. I've found that not many shops know that our cars take 4.25 qts of oil, for that reason I do my own oil changes.

Over fill shouldn't cause a rattle, but it's not an exceptable situation. The excess oil should be removed to prevent seal damage.
Sounds like the oil filter emptied and upon starting the pump had to fill the filter first and then flow to the top of the engine. Didn't check to see where you are located, but if it's cold out, that would amplify the problem-especially with dino juice.
