Fuel injector seal kit or o-ring?

Went to autozone just now and they have both the o-rings and the injector seal kits. Which do i need? It seems theres an o-ring on the back of the injector where it attaches to the fuel rail and another on the front where it goes into the LIM... Is there more to it? Whats broken in my pic?

There are 2 o-rings per injector. One that sits in the head and one that sits in the fuel rail. I would suggest replacing them. However the piece that is broken on your is a plastic end cap that is clipped onto the injector. They usually break over time. But I do not know if they can be bought new and replaced.

Honestly I would think you would be fine with new o-rings since that is what seals the injectors.

Replace the o-rings. They will leak when they get hard.

I think the plastic tip is important as it is the seal between the cylinder head combustion chamber and the fuel injector. But I have not heard of them being available seperately.

You can cut the old ones or use silicone spray and slide them over the top. And when you put the new rings, use some kind of assembly lube to slide them over or silicone spray.

And the plastic tip does not create any seal. It is more of a way to hold the o-rings on the injector.

Put the pintle cap on and see if the injector tip is clearly visible through the center of the cap. If so, put the new o-rings on and call it a day.

so i basically just cut the "nipple" off of the new pintle cap so it was the same height and diameter of the old one... popped it in and it looks and fits great
