Sudden horrid problem

So, after a loud pop, my Max is making a loud grinding from the front like a broken bearing or hub, while hardly being able to move (ABS seems to be locking). The break pedal goes soft for brief moments, and the bottom of the right front wheel is cambered out quite a bit.

I tried pulling fuses and the battery to reset ABS but no luck.

The car is in a parking garage and I'm going to have to get it towed, shoot me.

Thanx

Sounds like a snapped balljoint

You sure your pads aren't sticking to your rotor?

Well it happened in the morning and I parked it and when I started it in the evening they took a second to clamp down.

Man that it is weird. It sounds like you're not getting brake pressure (maybe brake leaking fluid) but the 'pop' does sound like a balljoint failure (as cjan suggested). Not trying to scare you, I had a balljoint snap on my Talon and my wheel looked like it was hanging off.

Break fluid could get me out of this tow...? Seems if I could get the breaks to free that might be able to limp a mile or so to a shop.

i had that happen in the camaro, but the problem was obvious. the caliper fell off the rotor at a very high speed falling onto the inside of the wheel. very bad noises!

**** like that happened to me to with my previous car... I was driving 60mph, hit the brakes and one of the caliper bolts got loose and fell off... The caliper on the front passenger side got jammed in the rim and completely locked the wheel... Scary ****!
