What are you planning to do, go Ferris Bueller and drive in reverse on jack stands for a couple hours?

If you break the odometer seal and roll the odometer back, they will know.

Re: Mileage

IMHO. I don't think it's worth the risk. You're better off paying the extra money for the overage in mileage...

Last I checked our odometer is digital so I don't think there is a way to roll it back. Theoretically you could a)disconnect it from the tranny and live without your speedo(very doable you just drive by tach) or b) Get a new instrument cluster

Anyway, dollars to donuts Nissan built in a way to tell if you do that. Seal over the connection or ignition kill if the speedo is disconnected or something like that.

Not sure about max but on alot of cars you can disconnect speedometer drive at the tranny without even touching the instrument cluster.

O: "Do you know how fast you were going there son ?"
M: "I have no idea officer my speedometer stopped working couple of days ago. Damn japanese piece of crap."

Big mistake

I also asked my Nissan saleperson (who happens to be a good friend) the same question. He said Nissan's were built (like Toyota's) with two different odometer readings. One that you see and one that you don't. You would have to set both of them back, which is impossible. One is computer stored and is pulled when the car is hooked up to their computer system.

I decided to buy. Didn't seem worth the jail time or fines....heeh.
