Need 02 Maxima Airbox and what else?

Hi, I have an 02 Maxima with a K&N air intake, probably for an infiniti. I didn't install it. CA law changed and now I need to swap this out with something street legal. So now I need a stock airbox. Before I post in the classified section, can you help me with what else I need?

Here's a picture of what I have. Not shown but present is the air inlet from the front of the car.

From pictures on the internet I think I need a MAF (or can I use the one I have?), the airbox, and the rear hose section (or does this come with the airbox?). Anything else?

Anyone know the part numbers?
Any recommendations on parts suppliers if I can't find one here?

Finally, there is a 2001 airbox in the classifieds right now. Is that the same part for 2002?

Thanks for the help!

They are not the same. 2000 & 2001 are the same but different from the one for 2002 & 2003.

Not a resident of CA, so I'm not sure what law could have changed which outlawed cone filters.....I understood they are supposed to be 50 state legal. Care to share the law change?

I take Dennis' word for it not fitting.

I cannot be sure give the length of pipe you have (that has the hose running to the vent from the front valve cover). That peice replaces the stock helmholtz resonator. So, without knowing the length and how much play you have with the couplers, probably could get away without getting a replacement helmholts and just keep that metal pipe.

I do have the stock airbox and the snorkle that runs up to above the radiator from the air box. I'll do both peices for the same price as that 4 sale thread.

Snokle looks different, but appear to connect to the intake box at the same place and the intake boxes look the same to me......now that I've looked at it a few moments.

Thanks guys.

@Dennis, those part diagrams and part numbers are very helpful!

@Chris, smog check told me CA now requires EO numbers for legal air intakes be documented. K&N doesn't make an air intake for this year of maxima, thus can't provide me an EO number. There are other mfgs of cone filter air intakes that are legal for this year of maxima. The current theory is that this model is for an infiniti.

Here's an image I found of the real parts:

So it looks like I need an air cleaner or airbox, a helmholtz resonator, and an accordian coupler. I have the maf housing and maf sensor, and the air scoop/snorkel.

Thanks Chris, I will consider it. However I think I'd like to look for an option with the resonator included. I have a hard enough time installing parts designed to fit. That extra tube in there will make life more difficult.

I'm in san diego at a shop that has passed me before with the K&N air intake. Now they say they need the EO number. I found an OEM air cleaner on ebay with all the parts I need for cheap. Thanks guys.

I've got to assume that they use the sniffer up the wazoo to check for emissions?
If so, that's a load of... If it passes emissions it should be legal. But if that's the law, I guess you're stuck.

I did my smog on January, the guy at the station didn't say anything about my CAI. I guess some like to be a$$holes about it.

CA needs sued, big time. That's dumber than the US pretending to care about emissions.
