Change LED color on A/C controls??

I just did that LED swap with the blue lights in the cluster and it looks great. I hate that ugly green LED in the clock and the A/C controls display though (not worried about BOSE garbage because that is coming out soon). Is there a way to make A/C controls and clock LED displays blue? And what about lights on the window and lock controls on the doors....can those be changed to blue as well?? I know TunerMax is the master of lights....hope you respond.

There's a guy in the 5th gen classifieds selling a complete master switch with the blue LED's all soldered on already for 45 bucks. I'd get that and just swap yours out!

If you are looking to change the LCD display color you are going to have to use pink tint to whiten the display and light blue tint to make it blue. You can find both on ebay from a seller called metrorestyling.

This, for changing the LCD colour. However, you DON'T need to install two different colours, you simply need the correct colour. IIRC, to acheive blue, you need purple.

To get white, you can use a light Red. Pink draws some blue hue out, so if you want pure white you sacrifice some output and use light red.

PM Knight_yyz, he knows exactlywhat colour to use to acheive blue, as he's done blue in his car and tested numerous shades to acheive it.

As for the other stuff you've already been directedto the how tos that are out and there's more around. PM or post back if you run into problems.

Tinting the lcd displays works perfectly on the ac controls but just so you know, doing it on the clock will make it nearly impossible to see during the day. I done care because my radio has a clock and the stock clock looks much better at night. Don't forget to snip the illumination wire.

Yeah you HAVE to cut that wire or you won't see the clock at all when the lights are on. Good point.

when you do the climate control LEDs, be sure and do the 360* view angle LEDs to eliminate the hotspots in the backlights.

If you change the indicator LEDs from stock to blue, they will be HELLA bright, so sand down the LEDs and apply white-out to them to get them to not be blinding. BUt if you have the auto climate control, you don't have the indicator LEDs, that's just for the manual CC I believe

Touche but I like the control using pink and light blue give me. Purple is simpler and if you get it just right minimizes light output degradation. However if done worng is an epic fail.

^No doubt. If you don't have a sample placcarrd/folder of translucent paper to test different shades, your way is the simplist and will assure the output desired (in colour. at least)
