I ordered a set of batman overlays, the tint guy screwed up one side, so now I have to order 1 side in order to make it right. once I get the new one in and get it installed, I'll shoot you some pictures. It will probably be a few weeks though.

I have some old altezzas laying around that I bought for a quick fix when my gf busted my old OEM ones and I don't plan on using them unless the new OEMS get broken or something so I was thinking I might as well mess around with some variations to see if I could improve on the ricer look. Thought about getting a body shop to smoke the clear part, like chrisman just did, to try to get a skyline type look. Just dont know if it would look good. Hard to picture. Might even take it apart and see what all would fit in there. Possibly make my own taillights lol

I had the altezzas on my altima and I couldn't stand them. I had them overlayed to red but I didn't have to worry about center cutouts. I wish I didn't have altezzas on the max but so far I prefer them to any alternatives on the silver car

You'd need the rear skirt to pull that off.
You know, that looks like a shopped idea, rather than an actual paint job. Just saying. When done for real, I'd recommend the slight curvature represented on the passenger side, rather than the sharp cut on the other.

I even bought that chrome 3M stick on stuff, sanded it and was going to use it to break up the sudden change in paint colour (I obviously considered painting something like above). IMO that's the onlyw ay to make it look even half-way decent, but I still didn't like it.
The bumper doesn't accomodate this change in colour, even though it looks so awesome in Photos.

If you're talking about the blacked out section of the stillen rear lip, that will look aweful no matter how you do it IMO.

I want to do a red overlay on my 2000 SE tails on the bottom part where the turn signal is, so I can have a completely red round center like this. I'll do some Google'n to see what red overlays are out there.

Thanks for the comments/compliments guys.
Check with Bluebatmobile, I am sure he still sells them.
When I first did this, the idea was much better than the execution. I guess that is what I get for going to a body shop with no real "modifying" experience. I actually wanted to cut out the black part, but they couldn't do it without ruining the lip (again, not experienced).
BTW, it's real, not shopped....not sure if someone was implying that.

You tint the entire thing to acheive that. Thats what I found out. I'll post mine later

If you guys don't like the overlays you can always paint it red with something like this:
VHT Nite-Shades Red Lens Cover Coating
or what I used back in the day.. take the bulb out and spray a lot of short bursts into the opening.
Then dark tint over that...
