need auto trans for my 03 or has anyone ever rebuilt one any tips

so ive read alot of post about thies cars and ive turned to love this car ive been enjoying this car than the trans starts delaying between gears
so i talked to the dealer and they said it sounds like i need to flush out the trans that the valve body was cloged up so i pulled the valve body out and pulled it apart and cleaned it and put in newfluid much better but it still gits stuk in 4th and now it kinda feels like its sliping into 3 but at the same time it down shifts nice and solid into 3 so im out of ideas any
help for me

Are you manually shifting a Auto, or just hauling @$$ to get up in 4th gear since it is a 4AT....

maybe i can decipher what he is asking because i have a feeling my tranny might also need a fluid change.

When he is traveling a certain speed with his transmission in 4th gear, he takes his foot off the gas and it feels like the transmission downshifts to third or is engine braking. And then when he re-applies a little more gas , it feels like the transmission "kicks" up into the next gear and feels like its being powered/gliding in neutral (like an AT).

If this is your question then i am in the same boat. If not, can anyone confirm/deny this is normal behavior for me I only started noticing it recently and cant imagine the car is supposed to feel this jerky, unless its just my "footwork".

Well the problem I had was a delay inbetween shifts in every gear like it started to go for the next gear than just stops for a second than would go into the next gear like normal but after I cleaned the valve body and put new fluid (castrol Nissan spec.) It shifts great but still is a little slugish shifting up into 3 but when I gas it and it down shifts from 4 to 3 it is perfict and it only has 115k on it and I would love a 6speed but this was a $500 car that has been wrecked 3 times but its still nice as a daily driver and has lasted me 1year so far

I know yours is an 03, but this may apply. Possibly TCM or solenoids.

That def sounds like my problem but from my understanding so far and I could be wrong is that the check trans light should come on if they are bad but they may be cloged so I think ill drop the pan again

Not all the time...I had slipping from 1-2 within my first 20K miles on the car after buying new. It was all covered under warranty at that time, but the trans light never lit.

If you are going to drop the pan, you might as well get new solenoids and change them out.
