Question

Were is the oil cooler coolant pipe on a 2000 max, Im seeing a coolant leak on the passenger side by the oil pan, I took it to a shop around my way & this mechanic said I need to have my water pump replace. I heard these pumps last along time. I got 257,000 miles on my max.

I think 257K is pretty long . Depends what you definition of long time is. Long time miles or long time years?

Your mechanic is probably correct. There is no cooler for the oil on the 2000.

It could be the oil pressure sensor. See my thread on my oil leaks for my 2k. One of them is on oil pan coming from the oil pressure sensor. Pics are in my thread.

The op has a coolant leak, not an oil leak. I had to read the post several times before I got that.

Ok I thought the 2000 maxima came with the oil coolant tube, anyway my mechanic said since he have to changed the water pump, he mines well do the timimg chain too, my issue is I never had a problem with my timimg or the timimg chain, Should I just let him changed the water pump and leave the timimg chain alone??? or just do everything at once.

The timing chain tensioners probably have lots of wear on them. Usually the chain is still OK. But he doesn't have to mess with the chain or tensioners just to do the water pump. Ask him what the prices are for just the water pump and for the water pump and chain.

How much extea is he charging to do the chain? From my understanding, thats a lot more money! I would not bother with the chain.
