Starter....

For the past few weeks engine cranks have been kind of slow, stopping for a moment then crank and start. This morning I go to start the car, it cranks slowly then nothing. AAA came out to give me a jump, test battery. The battery tested out @ 700amp which is fine. He rocked the car back and forth to see if that would move the starter a bit, tried to start, still nothing. He told me that its the starter. What do you guys suggest? Starter? Starter Relay? Is there a test to check the relay?

Thanks
William

Try giving it a couple bangs.

You can always pull it out and have AutoZone test it to be sure.

Leave it for a while ( No bangs )
Take it to Advanced Auto and test it to be sure.

Have Autozone check it out.

Most likely the starter. But check your pos battery cable that goes to the starter that it is in good shape, especially at the battery end.

The relay is not your problem. To test a relay, you swap it with another.

Tow truck guys have NO IDEA how to diagnose a problem. they are simply tow/jump start artists. They really have no knowledge.

So armed with that knowledge, i'd take it out and do as everyone said, take it to autozone, they chcek it for free, if it's no good, then you're already at the parts store, get another one, go back and put it on
