door replacement

Silly question... I'm pretty sure this will work, but just in case I am wrong i thought I would ask on here. I need a new door for my 5.5 Maxima. I'm pretty sure all the doors from 00-03 are the interchangeable except that the interior panels are going to be different. Is this correct? I should be able to buy an 02 door put it on an 03 and just swap the panels?

I would think an '02/03 would be the exact same, panels and all...'00/01 & 02/03 would have subtle differences.

According to part numbers, yes. Currently all 5th gen use the same part numbers, 80100-2Y9CA (right) and 80101-2Y9CA (left). The 2000 and 2001 originally had a different part number but that number was changed to the one that came out for the 5.5.

Well, I already know how to do it the hard way. You remove the quarter panel, and there are two bolts and an alignment dowel for each hinge, you have to remove the wire harness, and the little sliding part that stops the door from opening too far. All you need is 10mm socket and 12 mm socket. But to remove quarter panel you need to remove a few other things as well.

Less accurate way is to remove the nuts on the door itself, but then it will be harder to align.

I was under the assumption that the panels were different from 02-03, but that might be because I have a titanium edition, and 02's were not available in that trim. I also thought they were different because the window/door lock switches were different.
Found an 03 door I hope, last one I looked at had been raped by everyone at a u pull it type yard, this yard I'm checking tomorrow hopefully doesn't use that method.

You're right about the titanium trim not being in '02...though if you already have the titanium panel off of your car then the door from another car won't matter, right? Or am I missing something?
