Difference between 3.0L and 3.5L?

Do they use the same block, but bored out differently? I ask because the Cougar 2.5 uses the same block as the 3.0 from the Taurus, except the cylinder sleeves are smaller/bored differently. Therefore, a lot is swappable between the engines. I was wondering if that was the case with the 3.0 and 3.5? What is interchangable? Will the exhaust manfold's bolt's line up? Just wondering if 3.0 Turbo manfolds would bolt to 3.5?

And if they did bolt up? Doesn't mean you can actually use them.

LOL

I don't "rice" ... I had a 99 with enough mods to get to a 15.3 in the 1/4 mile ... not bad considering stock is 16.0. That was without the nitrous. With the nitrous, I was running 14.1-14.2 I sold the Cougar to save for buying a house. Once we are in, I have my heart set on a 2K2 SE

I ask about the engine/head similarities because I want to know if the turbo kit under consideration for production for the 5th Gen 3.0 will bolt up to the 3.5 ... if the head bolt pattern is the same, the manifolds whould swap over if there is room under the hood. Then all that would be involved would be tuning the A/F and Ignition tuning and running new piping.
