Yes to a point. I run 1.5-2.5 degrees neg camber on my 510. All a combo of springs, shocks, swaybars, tires and camber.

you mean hello tire wear right? I had a friend with coilovers and never got camber plates.. hehehe.. his tires looked nice from our view, but when he went under to do some maintenance.. you see worn at metal strips..

For road racing on radials as much as 3 deg static negative camber is normal, just look at a F1 or Indy car set up for road courrses. For street that's too much - you don't spend enough time cornering so inside edge tire wear would be extreme. I'd guess 1/2 to 1 deg would be a nice compromise for street use. Note - the Max rear has negative camber built in (more guaranteed understeer).

I run -2.5 in the rear of my CSP Miata.. tire wear isn't an issue on such a light car

To answer the original question, yes, more neg. camber allows for more tire to be in contact with the surface while cornering *but* lessens high speed stability if it is too excessive. As the front wheels are turning, you will get positive camber (not good) so by having negative camber to counteract it.

Use this picture as a visual: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...b.jpg.orig.jpg

By running a little neg. camber, it prevents the outside portion of the driver front tire from scrubbing. If this Austin Healey was running more pos. camber, you'd see more of the middle and outer tire scrubbing but with the current camber setting, the whole tire is in contact with the surface.
