CAI that works
CAI that works
Hay guys. I know there's way to many cai thread on this forum. Reading through them just give me a big headache there's to much fighting and bull**** through them and Way to many opinions. I wanna know what works and what gives gains-best gains? I've kinda got the idea an open pod in the engine bay isn't working for gaining power. So unless anyone has an opinion on that let me know. Cheers Kurt.
lol its a forum, fighting is part of it! A CAI with the best gains would suck in the coldest air possible and that would be achieved putting the filter end of the intake inside the fender. Get some piping and couplers and start taking measurements!
Before a possible lock:
Place Racing hybrid intake (use the stock Helmholtz (sp?) resonator, and the long tube portion of the Place Racing intake; your choice of filter).
It's not made anymore so you're going to have to get a universal/find a used one/or make your own using similarly bent intake tubes.

They all "work"
Unless you're trying to chase one or two horsepower between setups, just pick one and go with it. It's not like you're building a 10 second car, living your live a quarter mile at a time.

OP, this is another post from a car that is NOT A 5th GEN Maxima.
Your car is different, and as such, nothing said here really applies to you.
Your car (6th gen) DOES have a CAI option that you can purchase, where our 5th gens do NOT.
This is the wrong section dude.

Regardless of gen, the thread is pointless. As pointed out numerous times before, the variance in hp/tq between different setups is only around 2hp +/-...
Main difference being CAI usually gives more power in lower rpms and WAI usually sees gains in the higher rpms.
