Cold start (outside temp) and Gauge cluster problem. (Searched and no solution)

First the cold start problem.

The problem is more of an annoyance than a "problem." Anyways, if it is cold outside the car will not start, wont crank or anything, unless you press on the interior fuse panel. I've checked all the fuses and they are all fine so I don't understand this problem. I just don't understand why this is only a problem if it is cold outside, and the car has not been started in a while. Once the car has been started it will start up just fine for the rest of the day as long as it doesn't sit for like twelve hours and it would have to stay cold outside.

The gauge cluster problem.

Again this is more of an annoyance than a "problem." This is an all the time thing, the digital display on the cluster does not display properly. You can temporarily solve this by pressing in on one side or the other of the cluster usually, other times you will have to actually smack the dash above the cluster, and then it will display properly (for a while at least). I don't know what could cause this, I have never removed the cluster or anything like that so it would seem unlikely that there is a loose connection or anything like that, but I guess anything is possible.

Any advice, or input from anyone with a similar "problem," is greatly appreciated.

TIA
