6th gen bbk pics and best prices
Yesterday I installed my 6th gen bbk and I am in love with the car. it feels proper when pressing on the brakes now. I bought all centric gear since the price of oem has gone up to a rediculous amont
$95 for each loaded caliper including pads and shim kit.

This is the best prices I could find especially for a good name brand. The color of the calipers were not a fav thing so I took the time to paint them black before install

I paid $600 locally from a guy that got them refurbished and painted and never installed them. He sold the to me with 2 tires they are not the greatest tires but they work for now.

Exactly! as soon as I got the se-r wheels, it was one more reason to order this solution. I used standard shipping with tire rack and got the calipers the next day.

My next "Mod". My OEM ones are really ticking me off. Are the blanks really quiet? I had the slotted and drilled ones on my BMW and talk about howl when I would nail the brakes doing 80. Don't want that again.

Nismo, a couple of questions. Can you confirm you didn't need to pay a core charge for the calipers? That's a good price for a loaded caliper net of core charge. I also noticed the weight of the rotor was listed as 16 pounds in the specs- if that's right it's about 4 pounds lighter than what I see a standard 6th gen front rotor weighs, and just a pound more than a 5th gen. Can you confirm they are that light? Thanks

I am a huge fan of ebc reds. the calipers came with pads so I will be using these for now. When these are gone ebc red again just like i have in the rear.
Took the words right out of my mouth. They really should recall all 5th gens to install these. I feel more confident and more comfortable daily driving

I cannot speak to weight so much because I did not do an official weigh in but holding both rotors there was a difference but didnt feel like much at all.

With the 3.5, it's almost criminal. It's scary if you ever NEEDED your brakes to work and provide proper stopping distance, you can pretty much expect to run into something.

Also, the first thing I noticed was the rotors do look as if they have a different hat than most others (solid).

I've always been surprised at the lack of braking power in the 5th gen. It's dangerously inefficient even with the smaller 3.0 DE-K.
With the 3.5, it's almost criminal. It's scary if you ever NEEDED your brakes to work and provide proper stopping distance, you can pretty much expect to run into something.

Please explain what you mean by hat. This is a solid vented rotor.

Those are Centric rotors and are one-piece, but are painted black in the center. They look pretty when new, but mine had rust issues between the contact surface and the painted center portion.

And yes, this is still one of the best bang for buck mods for the 5G/5.5G.
I miss mine (calipers painted flat black with high temp paint, paired with RTP zinc coated rotors):

The RTP rotor group deal isn't on anymore (Automax_95?)...but there is a contact I was given if anyone wants to order them.

Yes as long as you have the 6th gen caliper bracket as well. The centric calipers come with the bracket that I linked in my first post.

Sick man, i picked up a 300zx bbk here super cheap and the seller even threw in rear pads and rotors bnib free! its funny we both have the se'rs and upgraded to bbk's lol Hows that tranny treating you =D

Tranny is beautiful. The diff gear ratios make such a difference. More shifting but deff get up to speed noticably quicker and no 3rd gear crap.

Niice bro, but doesnt it cause the car to burn a little more gas because of the ratios? And yeah man i love the se-rs. So glad they came with the car when i bought em. I got the calipers, they were freshly rebuilt with 200 miles, pads, ss lines brackets and power slotted cyro rotors. Im gonna take the calipers apart send em to TRGcoating. Getting em powdercoated high gloss purple $40 a caliper and my Se-rs grey lustre, the color of your car =D

I would personally rather have the 4.133. It's higher numerically, but is considered "shorter" as in well, gears are shorter overall.
It may slightly hinder MPG's while cruising, but IMO, it would be minor and I'm sure the majority of us aren't here because we care about MPG's, after all, 5 gen Maximas didn't have a 4 cyl option, and we all knew that coming in.
