2000 Maxima 5 Speed Hesitation When Cold

Hi everyone, I'm having a problem where I start my car up in the morning, I let it idle for about a minute, (just to let the oil get to the top of the engine) and once I start driving, the engine will hesitate briefly during shifts, or at select RPM's. Once the engine warms up to normal running tempature, the hesitation stops. I have no check engine light, but is there a chance that a sensor could be causing this, and just not throw a code?

Sounds like MAF is on its way out. My car is being somewhat similar. How many miles and what year? Touch the filter recently? Stock intake?

Im not 100% how to test MAF.

The car has 172K miles on it, it still has the stock intake, and I haven't replaced the sir filter since I've owned the car. (Which has only been about two months)

I have the same issue. I have read here that just replacing the MAF as a preventative is a good idea just for the increase in MPG's. It's on my list.

I have the same issue as the OP, the hesitation, some slight stuttering upon acceleration til it hits about 2200 RPM, then the damn thing takes off. I have no CEL, and I'm not one to spend my hard earned money buying parts just to see if it's the problem. While I believe in preventative maintenance (oil changes, timing belt, etc) I'm not all about replacing the MAF without know for sure. Would plugs cause these same issues?

I have the same issue on my 2000 auto, i can gently rev it in neutral and it sticks and wobbles around 1700, driving away when cold, it hesitates all the way out to 2000rpm and when its warm its gone, ive replaced MAFS, TPS, and caliberated, IM gaskets, fuel pump, plugs, had a upper intake cleaning(moto vac) had it checked for vac leaks and nothing... Cant figure it out, i also have no CEL. im thinkin it something related to either a sensor or the TB.

Mine does the same thing when it's cold. Runs fine when warm, which only takes a few minutes. I blame the cold.
