I've gone back to not using any sort of pre or post workout.

I'm going all natural right now. Carb load before I work out, drink a gallon of water with two tablespoons of pink lemonade mix in it for flavor (carb boost, and to stay hydrated), and eat a big meal afterward.

I'm actually gaining more muscle mass now than I was when I was on all the pre/post work-outs.

Beats me. Ask someone with a Maxima who has a FSTB and a tape measure.

If you're really making your own, start with the brackets. When you're done there, your bar length will be obvious. However, you're going to want to be very precise with both, because there's not a whole lot of room for error.

Here's an idea: drop $30 on an eBay FSTB, or troll the FS threads. Do this just for the brackets, either as the end product, or as a guide for your custom work.

Money well spent for a template, IMO.

I bought a cheap fstb from toys_auto on eBay, and the brackets didn't match up. The holes for the bolts were off on 2 out of 3 holes. Prolly be able to fix it by rounding out the holes with a drill or dremmel, though

Geeze, that sucks, and the perfect argument for spending the money at Stillen, because you know it will fit. But then you're spending Stillen bucks for something that just isn't worth the cost.

Best to remain patient and look for a used bar. Every once in a while the old Cattman Ti-bar will come up for sale. Very attractive piece. Always wanted one.
