Brake light out /shift release related?

I have a brake light that is out. Right side. Bulb is good. I also have to manually activate the A/T shift release to put into gear. I have read somewhere this is related. Is this correct? and could someone please guide me to the DIY link to repair the problem. Thanks to all for the help.

It's the blue relay next to your shifter under the trim. I have tons extras I can send you one for a couple bucks. Im at work now but can give you a more detailed reply with pics later.

The shift lever lock uses power from the brake light switch, so there is somewhat of a relationship. The specifics of exactly how it works is different between the 5.0 and the 5.5 gens. However, your brake light switch works since the one brake light works. As to why the one brake light doesn't work, I don't know. If are 100% sure that the bulb is good (like you have swapped it with the other side), you might have a wire harness problem or the socket for that brake light might be bad.
