WEIRD ENGINE BEHAVIOR. HELP!

I have an engine misfire issue, I think. (its a weird intermittent hop/bump/burp in engine when at idle) I know, its a really weird issue, stumped thus far. When I add fuel injector/system cleaner at fill up, the issue goes away, completely, this leads me to believe theres definitely wrong with the fuel system/injectors.

So, gonna replace injectors as a first troubleshoot, and the fuel filter.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

First step: Get a screwdriver or another tool that you can use as a stethoscope and listen to your injectors. If one of them is bad or clogged, you'll be able to tell by listening to it.

What grade gas are you using? It almost sounds to me like the car doesn't like the octane you're putting in it.

Well I bought the car in Dec for relatively cheap, and have been making some repairs along the way, this is the current issue.

It seems for a problem like this, the previous owner may have put nothing in by regular gas the entire 10 years he had it, or perhaps something got into the fuel tank. My bet is the fuel filter is filthy. After all the car is 10 yrs old, and if it went without proper car, etc.

I on the other hand have put nothing but 93 in. The problem goes away with fuel cleaner as mentioned.

Immediate plans are:

Try some BG44K
Seafoam
Fuel filter
Injectors

Funny thing is, the misfire has zero affect on the cars performance or acceleration, nor does it throw a code!

It might just be an at-idle issue.

My G has a few small hiccups and bumps every now and then when it's idling. But open up the throttle, and the issue goes away.

I honestly think it has a lot to do with the ethanol junk they put in all of the gas nowadays.
