Acceleration issue

I searched several other threads for my particular issue, but haven't found anything similar as of yet so thought I would ask.

My issue is that when accelerating from a stand still at anything more than light throttle, the car accelerates in a very "herky jerky" type of manner (really pronounced at WOT. Then once it gets over about 22-2300 RPMs, it smooths out. If I accelerate gently, say 25% or less up to a little over 2k RPM, all is well. I have only put about 30 miles on my car since I got it back together, and haven't had it on the interstate yet, but was curious if anyone else has had or heard of a similar problem. Please let me know if you can help.
