Farewell Guys
Sold my baby today after a good two years together. I've met a lot of cool guys on here and I've truly enjoyed my stay in the maxima community. I'll still be around and hopefully back in a maxima at some point or another.
For now I'll be riding around in this camry. Feels like a snail compared to the maxima with it's little i4.

EWWW. I'm sorry but you screwed up. Just my 2 cents. I test drove a camry (and a corolla for that matter) about a year ago, They drove like absolute crap. Had more body roll than my pathfinder and the interior was cheaper than a 5 dollar hooker.

While on the surface it obviously seems like a downgrade, why the all the hate when no one knows what his situation is? Maybe he got a new job and needs a car that's better on gas for commuting? No need to jump down the guy's throat for heaven's sake. Take a chill pill.

Agreed, ^^^^^^^ I'm looking for one of those Camrys right now 07 or Newer, but the SE one with the Kit and Spoiler, my Girl loves those she wants the 4 banger also, I dont mind, I know that its going to get some Bomb A$$ MPG......so Good Luck Man, Toyota is a Reliable Ride....

I do hate to see good people leave the Maxima community. Hope you'll be able to get into another Maxima soon!
And, for the record I was considering a similar move. Less car means less money so one can save and get something better later on. But I was looking at a Sentra

Good luck, Puddlelights.

WTF?
I didn't even know your car was for sale dude! While this is a shock, I'm sure you did it for the right reasons, whatever they were. And certainly sorry to hear you're out of the game.
Secretly (well, not anymore), I can't help but wish you would have joined the 'dark side' and got a G.

The maxima really was starting to age; some little dings here and there and some body rust going on underneath. I learned a lot from the maxima and the camry is just a step between before I move onto a G, 370, or 335(hopefully next summer).
I got the camry as a gift from a family friend moreorless from a family friend. While its less fun to drive than the maxima interior is a lot quieter and there are no rattles. The increase in fuel economy and cheaper insurance is a nice bit as wel. So far I'm not really planning too many mods besides a little lowering and SE lips.
I want use this opportunity to save up towards something nicer and more suited for me.
I will miss this car though. I picked her up for 7k two years ago and sold her for 5k.

My advice? Don't touch a thing on the Camry. Just drive it and save your money. cheap as dirt on gas and reliable as they come.
Just drive it. It will barely depreciate, you'll make good money when you sell it, and you'll have cash stacked from the savings during it's ownership to put towards a real car when you're ready.
A smart plan you've got laid out, as I did assume, being as 'because not idiot'

OP, other than routine maintenance and replacement wear and tear parts (wiper blades, tires, brake pads) on the Camry, don't touch it. Leave it the way it is.

I would take the Camry anyways, even if the 4 banger ones are rather lame performance wise. Better interior, gas mileage, cheaper insurance i guess, and overall new-ness? What's not to like? It's not like the Maxima is a race car.
I bet it sucks to downgrade from the pretty peppy VQ, but it's awesome driving around in a new(ish) car.

When I was working in the car rental business, I always found the Camry to be pretty comfortable and quiet to drive around. Granted, yes, a bit on the slow side. But we had one SE come in, and that thing was a whole 'nother creature.

Really? Civic forum? what's that supposed to mean? So I wish the guy luck with his Camry and you get all BUTT hurt.. WOW, lemme guess, you just turned 13.... If you're gonna be on any forums, grow the F>>K up!

Congrats on the new free car, shame to see another Maxima owner leave... but like I've always said (and yes I made a poll about it) you will be black and we'll be white here waiting!
They seriously ALWAYS come back after they leave lol
