4th Gen coils on 5th gen?
I was a brief, 2 months, owner of a 97 SE that was recently totalled and I am looking at a 00 SE Saturday that I am pretty sure i will be buying. My question is I took 5 coils and the MAF off the 97 before they took it away and i was wondering if they will work as spares for the 00?
Thanks

I think so, yes. The 00 is the DE-K, which is the same VQ30 engine with just a variable intake. The coils could be the same...if not, I'm sure someone else will correct me.
Glad to know you bought another max! You'll have to show it off!

Haven't bought it yet, going to check one out one Saturday and as long as it all checks out I will buy it.

yeah they are...but not NEARLY as overpriced as Subarus!
Good luck Joe!!! And it's ok if it doesn't work out...I had 2 other max's go through inspection (and have too many issues) before I got my 99 (3rd time's a charm!)

Oh gosh.. so much wrong information in here... all 4th gen coils WILL work in the 5th gen. You just wont be able to bolt it back down to the valve cover. I'm running 4th gen coils on the rear bank right now and I've done this countless times on all of the 00vi swaps i've done. And as a matter of fact, you can also use VQ35 coilpacks for the front too. You just need to swap out the "stem" piece for the 3.0 version because it's longer.
The maf wont work.
