EGR system Incomplete / Secondary Air Incomplete

I have an inspection coming up and my computer gives not ready for emission testing due to EGR system Incomplete / Secondary Air Incomplete. I did the sequence recommended by nissan to get it to reset but it did not work. I have no light on and the car runs fine. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you're tryign to check your EGR system with a standard tester, if I were to guess.

You can't check that with just any tester. Sounds like a message because the tester isn't compatible with the Emissions system on the Maxima.

And if your engine light is off and there's no hidden codes with an OBDII scan, you should be just fine.

Yeah that won't do EGR diagnostics.

It picks up the egr system on a toyota and a buick. What software does egr testing?
I was wondering if there is any software or list that compares the values that are pulled to what would be optimal?

It will recognize the system but can't do computer diagnostics. You probably need consult II or one of the nissan ghost scanners. I don't know much about it.

I always follow FSM procedures and diagnostics with generic tools

I believe you are talking about the IM status i.e. inspection monitors. How many monitors are ready and how many monitors are incomplete? What year is your car? For 2000 and before you can have up to two incomplete and still pass the emissions.

Maxima does NOT have secondary air. It should be NA i.e. not applicable.

It is an 01 20th anniversary edition everything shows ready except secondary air heated catalyst and egr.
Also it does not seem to be getting any data from the o2 sensors
