Another P0455 thread....
Well I got this code 3 times since Feb. Each time it would come on after driving on the freeway for at least 30 mins. Then after 4 or 5 restarts it woulod go away for a month. So I never worried about it but while getting my smogged done a few days ago the light came on right at the end of the dyno causing me to fail. I had this code on a couple of my other cars (my Jeep and my Cobra) and each time it was a cracked hose. I checked all vacuum lines going to the canister and valve and non are cracked or seem to be leaking. I never get the P1448 so I'm thinking it may just be a sticky valve or faulty gas cap. But like I said it will come on and go off without clearing the codes so I would think it's not a steady leak. I just want to see who else had a P0445 code that would come on and go off on a regular basis before I buy a new valve and/or gas cap.

This code comes up if the gas tank filler cap is not sealing. If the cap is loose or the o-ring on it is damaged or the valve inside the cap is bad you'll get this error. The gas cap is a common cause but far from the only cause. Here is a list of possibilities from the service manual.
Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close.
Incorrect fuel tank vacuum relief valve
Incorrect fuel filler cap used
Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap.
Leak is in line between intake manifold and EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve.
Foreign matter caught in EVAP canister vent control valve.
EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
EVAP purge line (pipe and rubber tube) leaks
EVAP purge line rubber tube bent.
Blocked or bent rubber tube to EVAP control system pressure sensor
Loose or disconnected rubber tube
EVAP canister vent control valve and the circuit
EVAP canister purge volume control solenoid valve and the circuit
Fuel tank temperature sensor
O-ring of EVAP canister vent control valve is missing or damaged.
EVAP control system pressure sensor
Refueling control valve
ORVR system leaks
