good car alarm
I had the Viper 5900 installed on my Maxima 4 years ago. It has a 2-way LCD remote & takes 1 AAA battery every 2-3 months. No complaints and the new 5901 goes further, is USB rechargable and has more features.

Expect to pay double that with installation and the chip module needed to fool your car that the key is in the ignition.
Could always go for the Viper alarm that uses an iphone app and no fob.... (yearly charge)
