Car moves to side when accelerating

My 2000 Maxima GLE will move to the right and sometimes to the left while accelerating particularily when the auto trans shifts. Its almost like the car will yaw when this occurs.

I recently replaced the front and rear motor mounts - the pass side mount was done about two years ago. Replacing the mounts, tightened the car up but did not correct the problem. Car has 220,000 miles on it.

Any ideas?

Check your ball joints, control arms and tie rods.

Steering rack, worn struts, uneven tire wear, and whatever everyone else said

220K is a lot of miles. The suspension bushings have to be very tired if you've never changed them (never mind the shocks & struts).

most likely steering rack issue and more specifically outer tie rod ends. Either that or your ball joints and CA bushings are worn to hell
