Fork in the Road... Literally!

So how random is this, I'm driving along and I hear this *BaM* and a *WhAp, wHaP, WhAp, etc...* I pull into a parking lot to find out what it was. Whatever it was hap popped out of the tire just befor I stopped, and there lying behind the car is none other than a fork, as in the the silverware. of course my tire is hissing like a p.o.'d snake and quickly losing air. Make it to my friends house to slap on the doughnut.

Next day (today) I call the local Bridgestone dealer, well the closest one anyway. The guy quotes me $265.88 !!!!!!!!!!!! oh ya, just for one Potenza with balancing. www.tirerack.com has em listed for $159.**. I tell him this and he's like, well buy from them then and bring it to me to install for $60. Basically hung up on him. What B.S.!!! Nothing else was open today being sunday, hopefully my dealership will give me a little better deal. They've been good to me in the past, especially after I was in once a month with my old car usually with something major broken.

What a pain!

... I need to take new pics with my clears in

You could always just drive it for a couple of days with the spare on while you order that tire for tirerack. Now, I'm sure you could take it some shop and have them mount and balance it for you for alot less. Hell I just had 4 tires mounted and balanced for $40. Granted driving on the doughnut is not cool, but it could save you a little dough.

Why don't you take the tire to Discount Tire Company (or a clone) and get it fixed for free. The few times I've had a flat I've gotten the tire fixed there for free rather than buying a new tire.

Not a bad idea, but the puncture was in the side wall and they can only do a patch if the puncture is in the tread...

Ya.. i had a puncture in sidewall on one of the stock potenzas.. paid $226 I believe. that was for a patch in one tire, a failed patch in another tire, 1 new potenza re92, balancing + mounting, + labor (at my nissan dealership)
