Need help with 2000 Maxima

Okay so a little over a month ago my maxima was shooting the code P0430 (cat system below thresehold or something). So I was told to try a few things to see if it went away. All I did was let the gas tank go near empty, put fuel injector cleaner in and filled it up with premium gas. About 50miles later and the light went out.

The light stayed off until 3 days ago. Im questioning if maybe it is something I did? I did let the gas pretty low and pretty much filled it up, on the ride home after that the light came on, same code.
Are there any other fixes I could try or is my cat really too bad to fix? Any advice helps, just questioning the cat since it did go out once..

That code is usually the front precat. If it's not that then it is the corresponding O2 sensor. It's nothing you did. I have the same code and it was intermittent for like 6 months but came on progressively more often until it finally stayed on all the time.

So what did you end up doing to fix it?

I had the same problem. Was very happy I was able to find an inexpensive aftermarket replacement.

Eastern Cat from www.performancepeddler.com - that's where I got mine about 3-4 years ago.

There are countless threads on this issue on the org. Searching would have gotten you your answer faster...even several sites to buy a suitable replacement.
