You need to be more specific. What coils are you referring to? Ignition coils? Suspension coilovers?

If you are referring to igniton coil packs, then it's OEM from Nissan.

Assuming you're talking about ignition coils: is there a problem? Usually only one needs replacement.

Sorry guys. Yes ignition coils. I know it could only be one. But I don't
Wanna replace one and then another one goes. Is there any good aftermarket brands available?

It sounds like you trying to do 'preventive maintenance'. I'd just leave it alone - if it ain't broke ... When coil goes the car stays drivable and you can continue to drive around without negative consequences until you identify / replace the coil. In my case they were going bad once every 2 years on average.

Problem with replacing them all at once is that it doesn't prevent one of the new ones going bad again. I'd spend money on good tires instead.

ignition coils

I'm nearing the 100k and I'm only going to swap out the rear bank 3 as they are very difficult to get a hold of. As someone else has pointed - if ain't broke then don't fix it - coils have no moving parts and while they take a beating (heat, vibration, etc.) you could find yourself putting in a bad part. My plan is to replace the front 3 with a replacement set - run it for a few hundred miles and make sure they are working fine. Then when I'm ready I will replace the rear 3. The front 3 can be replaced in 10 minutes any time.

I'm going to do the plugs at the same way as I really don't want to have to repeat the exercise.

Another item, Courtesy Nissan (not related but I've ordered parts from them in the past with no complaints from me) has the coils for $96 each. Not sure why the ebay guy thinks he can charge $111 for seemingly the same part but perhaps I'm missing something here.

FAQ has an excellent write up on how to replace the coils. Greg did a fantastic job of detailing it out.

Hope this helps.

IMO, coils are hit or miss (no pun) as in no grey areas (or dots, kidding again), they either work, or they don't. No middle ground.

In my many miles of Maxima VQ-ness, I've only replaced 2 (2 cars, 249k, 12 years).
