pedal tension

I don't know if all of our cars are like this, but mine has a high amount of resistance when pressing the gas pedal. It's far more than any car I've driven before and while it isn't a major problem, it is a little annoying in stop and go traffic.

I did a search on this and saw some mentions of the throttle cable tension, but they were for different problems. I realize this may be how these cars are, but figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks.

Check the tension under the hood, and check for obstructions, or rust, or both.

These should help you in your quest.

yeah check the throttle spring return and the cable, if any obstruction. Luckly for us we have cable on the throttle to the accelerator pedal, unlike the newer cars they elimnated it, using drive by the wire , Accelerator position sensor, like the "Toyota Unintended acceleration"
