A new NWP Engineering video for the Engine Torque Link

A new video just released for the NWP Engineering Engine Torque Link Bracing Kit. Drastically reduce engine movement while racing to reduce wheel hop, increase traction, and improve throttle response and shift feel!

Our adjustable Engine Torque Link connects the front engine mount to the chassis. It features opposing threads to make adjustments easy! All you have to do is turn the hex bar to increase or decrease engine stiffness.

The entire installation process takes only a few minutes and can be done by almost anybody with basic hand tools.

I hope you enjoy our new video! Please feel free to post any questions or comments.

Thank you!

Definitely a worthwhile mod. I use mine with solid mounts all the way around, and its still a noticeable difference when i pull the link out. its an improvement over stock or modded.

Can you look in your VQgarage and see if you have an extra lying around, Manny?

I DO have poly mounts that I got from Puppet a long time ago...so I'm not necessarily missing out too much

I did that (PUR mounts) and then did the ETL about 3 days after, one of my most noticeable mods ever.

It does make a difference. But I do have mine on "full stiffy" mode.

I guarantee you'll be happy with one, even with having PU mounts. I always tell people that if you are not happy with the gains once you install the Torque Link, then you can send it back for a 100% refund. I will even pay for your shipping to return it so you aren't out a single penny.

Yeah, I like to go ahead and crank it down if I'm going to install it. I either have the Torque Link connected or not. I don't usually have it set to soft unless I'm just playing around with it.

Yeah, it would definitely benefit the 6th gen. You have a different engine mount setup than the 4th and 5th gen though. So I'll need to design a completely new kit.

Yeah, that'll certainly help a little bit more. In the video, you'll see the transmission side still moving, but not nearly as much. It's about 50% less movement on that part of the engine. The front (timing cover side) of the engine is perfectly still.

That'll help too. Anything you can do to keep the engine still is a good thing. I'd just get some good PU motor mounts along with the ETL (Engine Torque Link).

And that's why I don't mind buying Aaron's products. Very honest and he stands 100% behind his product. But for real, when you gonna make one for the 6thgens? Our cars need love too...

Thank you. I know. Right now, we only have the Thermal Intake Spacer Kit, the VIAS Block Plate Kits, and an EGR Block Plate for the 6th gen. But as I see more and more 6th gens being raced on the track, I know there is demand. So I am not ignoring you guys at all. But I don't have an estimated time frame when new products will be released. Sorry.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. It's due to the song I chose for the video. I am not able to make it available on mobile devices. But you may be able to still watch it if you open the video using your phone's browser instead of the Youtube app or mobile Maxima.org website.

Bump for a great product.

Had it for two years before selling the Max. Drove with the TL installed every day, except for long road trips and winter. Match the Torque Link with solid poly torque-mount bushings and quality summer-only tires, and your Maxima will hook up off the line like a racecar. (Or like a sedan that wants to be a racecar, LOL).

And if you're one of the unlucky 5.5 gen owners with the 3rd gear crunch, this engine brace is a must have. Stabilize the engine movement and you'll shift like butter.

My only regret... not buying it in 2009 when Aaron started selling this thing.

Any 4th gen or 5th gen 5-speeds with this TL? I wonder if it will address, or make better that vague 2nd to 3rd shift feeling I have. I always feel like I'm going to miss shift the 2 to 3 shift but so far been lucky.

What defines the 'soft' or 'stiff' settings for the torque link?

^^ That's what I was wondering. Instructions say twist the bar a couple times till it's tight but nothing about soft or hard setting.

Yeah, your shift feel will be drastically improved. It will be a lot harder to miss shifts with the Torque Link installed.

Since it's a solid bar, there's no way to make it feel like stock soft OEM motor mounts. You can remove the torque link bar completely if you want that, all within a matter of seconds.

But, you can play around with how many times you turn the torque link bar. The softest you can set it is by turning the bar just enough where you begin to see the engine move downward. You can do this by turning it by your hand until you can't turn it anymore. Then just lock the jam nuts in place and you're done. You always want to make sure you have tension on the clevis pins in the bar though. You don't want the bar to rattle.

And if you want it tighter, you can turn it another 1-3 complete times with a wrench after you can no longer turn it by hand.

I don't mind at all.

And I still think you should offer (or recommend) powdercoating for this thing.

Of course, you saw this coming, LOL!

Take care, Aaron. I'm rarely on the Org anymore, but I still support you and your products whenever it comes about.

Do you have a cabin vibration reduction kit?

Love the bar and glad it came with my car when I purchased it. Getting a little older is making the creeks come out but damn do I love not just feeling the difference it makes, but hearing the engine

Ok ok...so djshwini PM'd me about having one to sell so I bought it off him. Just put it on last night and only had a chance to drive this morning on the way to work.

My opinion:
Should have done this mod a long time ago. Probably should have been one of the first mods actually. People with a 6spd will have the added benefit of a smoother shifter. I can really tell how much of a huge impact it's made just from gear engagement and taking off. I have poly mounts installed and was hesitant to think of how the tq link could further help me benefit...but it does.

Great product

Yeah, I'll probably cry when Aaron releases one for the 6th gens. It seems my 6th gen 6MT has less wheel hop and torque steer than my leaky-ringed 5.5 6MT, but the engine still flops around way too much. =/

Also, NWP's Facebook page implies testing of a full EGR-delete kit for 6th gens and the Altimas sharing our setup...

Also also, Aaron is a fantastic individual who deserves monies rained upon his head. His customer service is second to none!

I don't know of a way to lock the engine into place while reducing vibrations at the same time. The engine has to move with stock rubber mounts in order to reduce vibrations. Your best bet is to have brand new OEM motor and transmission mounts and only connect the NWP Torque Link when you want to do some spirited driving or race on the track.

But for me, I have polyurethane motor mounts all around on my 92 Max race car. Once I remove my ABS actuator, it should clear up enough room for me to possibly rig up this Torque Link in the same spot as the 4th and 5th gen Maxima. I may have to drill some new holes here and there, but it'll be worth it to have this thing installed in my 3rd gen Maxima VQ35 swap.

$139.99 plus $10 shipping. But you may ask for free shipping by following the instructions in our vendor thread.

The 6th gen Maxima will definitely benefit from a Torque Link Kit. I hope I will be able to design one soon.

And we already have an EGR Block Plate for the 04-06 Maxima and Altima w/ EGR. It's not a full delete kit, but we have already finished our EGR elimination testing and everything is great. We hope to release a full kit later this year with a block plate, block plug, bolts, and instructions on how to delete your EGR without having ANY CODES what so ever!

I agree. You will NOT regret signing up for our NWP newsletter!

You may do so on our main NWP website: http://www.nwpengineering.com/index.html

You are also automatically signed up when you purchase any NWP product. Unsubscribing is VERY easy for those that are not interested in receiving exclusive discounts, recent news, and tips on how to make your car perform better. Just click the unsubscribe link once in our newsletter and that's it. You will be removed from our list instantly.

I hate it when I try to unsubscribe from certain newsletters and it takes me through 100 loops and steps that have me manually enter my email address in a text box, then confirm via email, blah blah blah.

The NWP newsletter is different! We actually provide useful information and discounts that can leave your mouth hanging open.

I've been immortalized on NWP's website!

So I've got this, and an engine bay photo on RacinglinePerformance.com, going for me. My bucket list is complete.

I've been keeping my eyes on this thread for a while and the more and more I see it, the more and more I'm tempted to get it.

I just signed up for the News letter and I'm hoping some sort of deal comes out soon cause I'm short on cash, am on the verge of losing my license, and wanna enjoy my car while I still can.

We hope to send out another newsletter within the next couple weeks. Not all of them will have a discount, but so far, our first two newsletters that have been sent out had substantial discounts, as well as, special news and videos pertaining to my 92 Maxima VQ35.
