Not now! Lack of power

I drive an 03 i35 and my car idles louder than normal. I was driving today and noticed that i was barely moving when i was pressing the gas. I found out moments later that i have an exhaust leak. I do have a CEL error which is a p0138. Also, now when i start the car my a/t light blinks 16 times. I recently changed the rev sensor and wheel sensor on my car. Also, i dropped the pan and changed the trans filter too. I have no clue what is wrong with my transmission. Can a exhaust leak cause transmission problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated it.

I'm thinking that I might change the shift solenoid on my car. The shifting is fine but why would the a/t light blink. I did check the fluid level and its fine.

The P0138 is for an O2 sensor, bank 1 sensor 2. O2 sensors usually do not affect performance. The code could possibly be because of the exhaust leak and not necessairly a bad sensor.

But the AT light blinking is not good. Run the transmission self diagnostics and see what it says.

http://boredmder.com/FSMs/Infiniti/I35/2003/

Download section AT (Automatic Transmission). The self diagnostic proceedure starts on page 53.

i am getting so fed up with my transmission light blinking that i was thinking about buying a used transmission. i found a used trans for $400 on car-part with 25k on it with a 3 month warranty. The install would cost me $300. Does anyone think this is a good idea?

I have 78k on the car. The car shifts fine but that damn at light still blinks. Last year my car was caught in a flood. A lot of water was in the transmission. Currently my transmission fluid color is a wine/red. Thanks guys

i went to a transmission place and they said that my transmission is slipping. i think irregardless of the outcome my transmission is done. I think that something internally is wrong with my car. Last August my car was caught in a flood and water got in my transmission. On Friday i plan on getting a used transmission from a junk yard. The transmission has 25k on it with a three month warranty (car-part.com). 25k on a 2002 nissan maxima transmission seems too good to be true but its better than my transmission.

Went to another transmission shop and i got a P0717. What the hell is a turbine sensor? My car has been slipping pretty bad today. When i step on the gas pedal the car barely moves. thanks

That P0717 is interesting. Neither the Infinity or Maxima manuals list that code. The booket with my OBD reader does list it.

I searched through the Infinity AT section for the word turbine. I got hits but the word was not referencing a part, it was associated with the Power Train Revolution sensor which is used to control oil pressure in the trans. See page AT-45 and AT-213.

Maybe this sensor is bad. I don't know very much about the auto trans, so I am guessing.

i got a used transmission installed and let me say i am not happy. My car was slipping like crazy when i was driving in the city and i smelled something burning. I went home looked at the dip stick and it was reddish brown. I then decided to drop the pan and the fluid was brown and smelled. I am still under warranty and the place i brought the transmission is willing to give me another one and the shop that installed my transmission is willing to put another one for free. I am so mad at myself cause i got f'ed over. I have a very good feeling that they did not change the fluid at all. I should of checked the dip stick before i left the place. Right now i am waiting for my sister to pick me up a transmission filter. Do you guys think that when i put the new filter and fluid in the car will drive fine or do you think that this transmission will go bad sooner or later. My main reason to change my old transmission is because i had water damage. thanks

Drove the car today after changing the filter and fluid. The car's transmission gear was super loud. Going to get my transmission replaced tomorrow.
