Insufficient cooling diagnosing

2003 maxima 3.5 6spd auto climate control

so its been a hot summer and my cars AC has been kicking *** all summer long its been great, this last week it has been cooler and my AC feels like its not as cold as before, i figured maybe it needs a recharge? i usually set the TEMP to 70F and it cools great, lately i've been putting 68F and i dont feel it. if i set it to 60F it blows cold so i figured i dont think a recharge will help me.

yesterday it was 77F and i set my AC to 70F and it was so cold in the car i figured the problem went away, then i kept driving and all of a sudden the air starts getting not so cold. so its on and off sort of thing.

i searched here and went on to the FSM i read through most of section "HA" heating and air conditioning. i went through the diagnostics on page HA-44 all my sensors checked out good for open or short circuits(step 2), all my doors and intake positions checked out ok(step 3), the actuators are working no problem (step 4) then i get to step 5 which checks the temperatures for ambient temp, in vehicle temp, and intake temp. it was 80F outside today so my ambient temp says 80F perfect, then my invehicle temp said 82F perfect, and the intake temp said 38F ??? i was like wtf? i dunno but it kept going as i was looking at the number 38-39-40-41 all the way through 85F then it restarts at like 34F and it keeps going on and on while im driving heres a pic:

so when the intake sensor said 85F it slowed down counting and i turned the AC on and put it on 70F and it kicked *** for a few minutes! then the air got warmer and i pulled over and started the diagnostic again and the intake temp went down again to 40F. so should i just replace this sensor or is there more to this problem? and where the hell is this sensor because the FSM shows a crappy picture and i cant find it around the condensor any pics or advice would help.

i found this thread searching

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...r-replace.html

apparently i was looking for the sensor at the condenser....its actually mounted on the evaporator....i dunno too much about AC stuff, especially auto climate control.
its some where below and to the left of the glove box so i'll buy a new OEM sensor and take everything apart sometime this few weeks and report back to you guys. i still couldn't find any pictures of anything so if somebody has something to say or show I'd appreciate it.
