hi i got a 00'328i for 47G's... w/ all the options plus the M-suspension.

basically here it goes... u cannot get a base s4 for 39,000... demand on it will be too high... they usually will only sell one or 2 at that price...which will make their claim legitimate....

now i want all the luxuries... on a sedan... m3 hasnt nearly come out yet... all lux means higher resell and easier to sell as well as everything you need.

u get an s4.... s4 is turbo'd... wow... 250hp turbo'd... 6G's more for a turbo that will do less than if u got a 328i a supercharger for that same 6G's....

then... u think about luxuries... and name... luxuries is a must have for me... i dunno... i just like that ****... its nice. brand... bmw is definately the better brand and the brand w/ the most effect... u want a badge... take a dinan badge w/ ur supercharger...add it on...WOW... u got a more exclusive car than the s4...


then... u think about safety... bmw is hands down safer than audi...nuff said...


next...u take transmissions... bmw trannies are better hands down... bmw's 5 speed is slicker than audi's 6 spd... dont even get into bmw's 6 spd or thier SMG...


aftermarket...u can fix a bimmer to look ten times better than an audi... u can make it faster also... u can get way more stuffor bimmers than audi... more versatility...


then, theres also styling... bmw has the better body... sure, people love the audi look... but to me, there nothing like the bimmer look.


now, taken all that, how can u even begin to compare the 2? the audi s4 was made to beat the E36 m3...old style... it did it's job... the new M3 came out ... more expensive than ever but tougherto beat by tons... my 328 is not even a top end car for bmw... the s4 is the top end car for audi's A4 line...


that is how i justified my buying a BMW... i luv the looks way more than the audi look... that is probably the biggest reason... but trust me... u can do a lot more to a bimmer... and make a bimmer a lot better...

plus, if u just wanted stock performance... the suburu WRX beats the s4 hands down in almost everything cept styling and safety... but its 25G's cheaper... my bimmer beats the audi in styling and safety... 6G's cheaper... just for that supercharger i might want later on when warranty is out... but i would much rather sell this car and get an m3...

o yea... dont pull a long spiel about how i paid 47G's for my car... thats w/ tax... i will bet u that u wont get the luxuries that i have on my bimmer on an s4 for 47G's...

seriously i want to know wat you guys think.. i still think he got jipped..(bought wrong car for 43gs) shoulda gotten S4.

he should've gotten the s4. Biturbo 250hp, quattro, better styling (bimmers too common..dime a dozen)I'm sorry, but there is no difference to me between an Audi or Bimmer.. basically the same stuff.. nice euro cars.

Why the hell is he comparing a wrx to the audi.. the wrx is hella fast but its hella ugly.. no way in hell you can tell me an Audi s4 is as fugly as a WRx.

One question. For 43gs would get a 328i with lots of options or a Audi S4 with some options? Id say hands down the Audi. (And the argument wasnt even about turboing or supercharging your car.) It was just.. for 43gs which car would you TAKE?

We paid 35 Grand for a brand new 330I 8 months ago. The car is loaded with the LUX package. 43 Grand for a 328??? WTF? M suspension couldn't cost that much. You could have gone aftermarket with suspension and saved big bucks. I think you got the shaft on that deal.

If you are happy with your 328i, you don't have to justify it to us.

I do want to add that I have followed the Audi S4 forum for about a year now and you would have a really tough time making your 328i quicker than the S4. The V6 twin turbo S4 is a conservative 250hp and will put out 310hp with a chip (under $1k). It also has AWD which eliminates the whole traction issue with additional HP.

As for price, most of the people on that forum were able to negotiate some pretty sweet deals on new and used S4's. I see '00 S4's on their classified page in the $30-34K range. Most say they paid right about $40K for a new S4 after negotiating (plus TTL). That is a brand new S4 for a whole lot less than $47K.

As for posting this on a Maxima website, you are in a different price point all together. For your same $47K, you could get yourself a '02 Maxima SE (with 255hp) and a still have nearly enough cash left over to get a WRX.

If you take your same posting above and drop it on the audiworld.com forum you will get a more informed opinion. I warn you though...they will likely rip you a new one!
