02 max- new-ish pads on new rotors?

Question: I have fairly new brake pads, 4 weeks old and maybe have 1500 miles on them. It turns out I need new rotors as well (long story, thought the rotors were within spec four weeks ago but they're not). Would I be ok reinstalling those pads on the new rotors after sanding them down a little bit? I usually replace everything as a set but these are kinda new, would hate to throw them out.

..and i should add, theres some light scoring on the rotors.

Yes I would just use them, no point in wasting the pads or the money.. What are you thinking of sanding the pads? Just put them on the car, the pads should not operate any different just because your getting new rotors.

Yea, just to ensure a good mating (sorry cant think of another word for it!) surface. The rotors are scored and i was assuming this scoring might have transferred on to the pads and if I put new rotors on, the scoring would transfer from the pads to the new rotors.

This! Bed your new rotors properly and you'll feel like you just put on new rotors AND pads.
