car doesnt accelerate

I have a 2003 nissan maxima, while i was driving the car stopped accelerating..once i pulled over to the side of the road the car shortly after cut off..everytime i put the car in drive it cuts off..after trying a few times it then wouldnt even start up anymore..the car has a brand new battery because i thought that may have been the problem..does anyone have a clue..your help is needed!

Is the engine cranking over but does not start? The engine starting and then quitting could be a bad MAF.Was the check engine light light on?

My brother just went through this! MAF... just to be sure though, have your alternator checked... well, if you're getting the brake/battery light combo, if you're not, then for sure it's the MAF.

I see this same thread over and over and over and over again. All the things that has been occuring tells you the car is in safe mode. The sensor may have detected some water or moisture so its restricting you from reving preventing you from causing any further harm to your engine. Change your MAF sensor
