VIN Decoder
VIN Decoder
New feature which allows members to decode their VIN! Along with MSRP and invoice price, the Vin Decoder can be used to see engine and powertrain stats, options by body style, paint colors and codes, and detailed technical specs. Users can also easily share that information to Social Media sites like Facebook and Twitter, or even click through to purchase a Carfax report for that particular car.
The VIN decoder will also appear as a hyperlink anytime a member posts a VIN to enable more accurate info when referencing VINs in sales threads or general conversation. We think the VIN Decoder will be a fun and useful tool for members, so check it out!
Use this link to check out a VIN not posted in a thread.

It is kind of ok, but it doesn't really tell a nissan knowledgeable person anything out of the ordinary.
To the less knowledgeable, it is nice because it lists all the standard features and equipment for the car.
If you could type in the option code that is under the hood, that would make it useful.

Yeah GXEs didnt come with a sunroof which i personally prefer. I hate them haha. I think of the "SE" as the "Sunroof Edition". I also believe the SE has the white gauges. My GXE has the black one.
My car is coming up as the same and I know for a fact it's an SE.
I also use this website www.carinfo1.com and guess what, it also says that my car is a GXE, what the h.........l...??.?.??

On that plate you will see the car's VIN number and below the VIN is a string of letters, numbers and dashes. Write it down and compare it to what I posted in post # 12. The 6th character from the left is what you want to compare.
FYI - the dashes are valid characters. They are used to indicate that some option is not installed on the vehicle.
My suggestion to all of you is to go look at the metal plate that is under the hood on the firewall, between the cruise control actuator and the brake master cylinder.
