Time for New Wheels - Good Deal?

I don't really know much about wheel prices as the last set I bought it was a group deal.

At any rate...I'm just wondering if these are a good deal. I think they would look on my Max and frankly not really interested in opinions on the look, just on the price (closeout doesn't mean it is best price...).

By the time they are shipped and mounted it will be about $600. My current tires still have good tread on them so I only need the wheels.

You fail at reading...I already have good 17 tires. 18s weigh more anyways decreasing MPG and tires more expensive too.

If you're not upgrading the size I think it's pointless, but that's just my $0.02. I'd wait until your current rubber is wiped and get 18" or 19"

As far as your actual question, I have no idea what 17" rims go for, because who buys 17" aftermarket rims???

BUT under $500 mounted for new rims seems cheap, if it's justifyable to YOU I say go for it . And those are a very nice looking wheel that will suit the Maxima well, nice choice! I'd recommend some personal comparison shopping on other 17" rims if you want to know if the price is fair by comparison.

P.S. The comment about different weight between a 17" rim and 18" rim is a bit silly, we're talking about little to no difference. And *did you know?* Rubber weighs more than Alloy? More rubber = more overall weight.
For instance say a 18" rim weighs 22lbs, Installing a tire on that rim (on the maxima) now the whole thing weighs over 55lbs, normally more even.
The difference is where the weight is on the radius.

Obviously 18 inch rims wrapped in rubber weigh more (quite significant) than17 inch wheels...

I don't care as much about wheel size as you guys do. I'm doing the wheel change because two of my wheels are slightly bent giving me vibration and I'm tired of it. I tried two different wheel repair shops and no avail in fixing them fully.

For me...function and value greater than form.

Thanks for feedback people. Let me put it this way....if I was really concerned about size I wouldn't even be driving a 12 year old 4 door sedan...right?

Yup...which is why I asked to comment on price only. Everyone has input otherwise...

if you already has good tires just pick up a set of OEM 17 rims.... since you are 12 years old 4 door sedan might as well keep it stock and simple... in my opinion the 17" se OEM rims look much better than those on the picture...

Yeah...first thing I looked for and two issues:

1. Surprisingly hard to find a decent full set at a good price locally.

2. Used may mean they might be bent and I end up with same issue.

I don't want to chance it...

what's wrong with your wheels now, are they really badly curbed or are you just looking to change the look of them?

Bent beyond repair causing annoying vibration.

If you want to spend a small amount of money and don't care about looks, you buy a pair of OEM rims and replace the ones that are bad. That's it. Contact AACKSHUN.

OEM 17's with tires are only around $250, 18"s can be had under $500 with decent tires.

Then you can sell your 17" tires if you want also.

If you want to pinchfist under $400-500, then you're buying only 2 rims, and you'll have to be ready to hunt/scour for them.

You don't get it....but that's ok.

1. How do I know those 2 rims aren't bent?
2. How much time am I going to waste hunting down the last two rims? And how much will those be?
3. These are $500 shipped to my door. I know they won't be bent. I will have four rims. I can get them mounted the same day and be on my way. I can probably get 100 or 200 for my current rims.

You are helping me though..with every one of your posts. People really don't understand value these days. It takes into account time, money, quality, and price...factor in PITA as well.

All I want to know is if these rims are a good price. I think I can be confident they are a good price after all.

Hmmm....apparently there are two offsets and backspacing. Which one best fits my Maxima (2000) with stock brakes?

Offset: 35mm
Backspacing: 5.90"

OR...

Offset: +45mm
Backspacing: 6.29"

Thanks...

In that case, I think they're a decent deal for 500 for all 4 rims. Not going to comment on the size since I'm rolling stock 16's

i think its a little bit too much for a 17" wheel . keep looking
tirerack tends to be pricey across the board

+45 is closer to stock. +35 will look better. Sparco makes decent rims, and I'm sure that buying it from somewhere like Tirerack you'll get some sort of warranty if need be.

EDIT - I cleaned this thread up, Toxic and TunerMaxima3000, the OP has made it clear what his intentions are, so quit pushing the matter. You want a pointless debate, do it in OT or something.
