So, its been sitting for 2-3 years.. on a dealer lot of all things.. with a blown motor (so im told).. I'm very familiar with the VQ30DE so replacing it with a junkyard block doesn't scare me, I do however need to know for certain that everything will bolt up to the pre-Kaizen block (oh, I should mention I'll be using a Pre-K block). Just to clarify when I say block I mean from the Pan to the VCG's Ill be swapping manifolds and all accessories from the 01 to the 98 engine.

I guess im kinda looking for the trained eyes of the people here to tell me if they see anything I missed... Or maybe could give me some tips on what I should do. I can get a U-Pull block for right around 150ish, A radiator for 50ish, and most interior components for damn near free.

Now heres one of the Kickers.. Its missing the Keys. So- I'll need to hot wire the thing.. Now im not telling you to openly say its these wires- becasue well thats DUMB AS HELL on a public forum, but I am asking you to please PM me with some help on getting this thing in the ACC and Engine Running electrical Positions.

Hmm, im certain im forgetting something.. Oh well I'll update later.

Thanks guys,
Ryan

Is that a GXE with a sunroof?

Just get a used Ignition Cylinder with keys and get the keys reprogrammed to the car. It'll save you a lot of "hot wiring" problems if you do decide to purchase the car.

Why not just have Nissan make you a key from the vin and have them (or key master) program it? Going to have to do that anyhow.

Ill just be using the block from a VQ30DE, everything else will be from the blown motor, Manifolds and all.

Heres something I forgot to ask, how do I know if this guy has NATS?

It also depends upon available funds, im broke so assuming I do take possesion of this it'll be a slow and cheap fixer upper.

I have a 2000 GXE and it has NATS so most likely, you will have it as well.

I would prefer to bypass it if at all possible, I would defintely not like to have this thing immobilized..

Hmm, I see. My ignition cylinder seized and would no longer turn so I bought a used one off a same year Maxima about 3 years ago and I had the key it came with programmed (Make sure the ignition cylinder is OEM if you're going this route) and I have not had any issues whatsoever. Contact your local Nissan dealer and explain the situation as to that you are purchasing a car without keys and provide with your VIN number and see if you can get a quote on a key made and just have it programmed by your local locksmith (Nissan Dealer will want way too much for programming). Get the ball rolling at least with getting a key made Just a suggestion.

all 5th gens have NATS. You'll need to program it. The dealer can do this but you'll pay for it.

You have some research to do, you'll likely need to get the NATS Module, BCM, Ignition cylinder, Key and some other goodies all off the same car to make it work. And that is going to be messy

....or just get a new key made from the vin. Way cheaper than the abovementioned.
