Please I need a straight answer

I have a 2002 3.5 gle and the rear valve cover is leaking through the spark plug tube. I was told that a 2003 3.5 will replace it at 1/3 of the cost. The dealer said it would have to be modified to make it fit and I would have to get a custom gasket that the 2002 and 2003 valve cover gaskets are different. Is there any truth I know some of you guys have done this but I do not know if there was any modifications or if its just a 2003 valve cover and 2003 valve cover gasket. Please let me know

I thought it was the 2004-up VC and gasket? Not for sure though. Sorry...

This discussion was last week I think. Should answer all or at least most of your questions. Granted the OP asked about a 2003 but I'm not aware of any differences, it's a 3.5...find my post and read DjHackStyle's answer.

04+ VC's dont have the leaking tube seal issue the 02-03 does.
