Sucks man. I have some winter 350Z rims and decided to plasti-dip one and was like hell nah!!! Peeled it off right away. I don't know how much people know that washing plasti-dip wheels is a pain in the rear. For some reason the brake dust stick on the plasti-dip and it's hard as hell to clean, and to back it up that nice smooth black is just temporary because it turns brown from all the brake dust. I pass on that crap

Tried on one of my 18" G35's first, didn't like how it turned out... So I just decided to have them powder coated. Never plasti dip wheels, wont last long! Just have them powder coated...

you should've just left it on and then spray the gold metalizer on top of it, i think it would suit your car quite well

Not for nothing but plasti-dip isn't necessarily just black like most people get it in.

did my 350z's early this summer and haven't had any issues yet. I spray tire shine on the rim and tire to gloss them up some and i have pads that dont put out much dust. they work for me for now.

Yea the secret is to paint over the plasti-dip, i did a few coats of the plasti-dip, a few coats of black, and some clear coat to protect and shine, they came out prety good for under $20 worth of paint

^ yea thats how to get a nice solid finish when you don't care to remove the coating.

only downside is that I've read when you go to peel it off, it is very solid and brittle. Makes it an absolute royal pain in the rear to take off(if thats what you want).

That's doesn't look that bad. I'm kind of digging it. I would def try it again after the spring when you lower it.

The great thing about Plasti-Dip is you can just peel it off if you don't like it.

And if you have good sense, you will.

As OP, the black wheels are still on. It has grown on me(like a fungus).

I need to do a brake service so i might peel it off then.

I like the idea of plastidipping then painting hte plastidip so it's a temporary thing, would love to see the results of that.

Yo, dawg, we heard you liked Plasti Dip...

In all seriousness, though, I have seen Plasti Dipped and then painted wheels. It actually comes out pretty well, because the PD does a fair job of filling in any types of minor curb rash/imperfections in the wheel.

Ive heard about good jobs being done from people on the internet, I think for me (as a PD hater) I'll need to see at least ONE single job in person that looks even halfway good to sway my opinion.
