check engine light on with abs and traction control lights. Abs code 87

I finaly code a good code reader to use and checked my abs codes and found code 87 ( engine check signal). Does anyone know what this means and how to trouble shoot it? I also still have eninge code p1320.

ABS code 87 is "Engine parts are under fail-safe condition". This ABS code will happen when you get any of the following codes:

P0100 MAF SENSOR/CIRCUIT
P0115 COOLANT TEMP SENSOR/CIRCUIT
P0120 THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR/CIRCUIT
P0125 COOLANT TEMP SENSOR/CIRCUIT
P0605 ECM
P1320 IGNITION SIGNAL-PRIMARY
P1335 CRANK POSITION SENSOR (REF)

You have the P1320 code so the ABS code will go away when you fix the P1320.

Possible Causes of P1320:
Harness or connectors (The ignition primary circuit is open or shorted.)
Power transistor unit built into ignition coil
Condenser
Crankshaft position sensor (REF) (attached to the upper oil pan and senses the crankshaft pulley)
Crankshaft position sensor (REF) circuit

I have tested the electrical with the service manual and everything seems to check out. I also have cleaned the grounds. The only thing that makes it go away is if I clear the codes then drive it and the lights stay out but as soon as I shut it off and restart it they come back on. I am so lost and I don't want to throw parts at it with money I don't have.

Clearing the code does not fix the problem, so of course the code comes back. Either you have several (or all) bad coil packs or you have a bad CKPS (REF) sensor.

Try throwing some parts at it, like the CKPS (REF) sensor. That's what I'd do.

are your coils oem or after market?

if coils are oem, your crank sensor is acting up.

also check your harmonic balancer

does it take a few cranks before engine starts?

The coils are aftermarket. I would replace them but I don't have that kind of money right now. I ordered a different crank sensor. I don't think it's bad but I am going to try it. The car starts right away. Thats why I don't think it's bad. We will find out in a couple days. Do I just look for cracks in the rubber of the balancer?

Alright the car finally acted up. I just went to start it and as soon as it started it died. Then it just cranked on wouldn't fire. I put the throttle half way down and it started. Shut it off and restarted it 5 times and every thing was fine. I just filled it up and got just 23mpg last week. I also don't have any new codes.
