At high idle I have a whistling noise that I can't locate. Its also present under heavy load at higher rpms. I've checked vac lines and they all look good. Ive tried started fluid to see if its a leaking intake gasket but no change on engine speed. Suppose it could be an exhaust whistle but I think it might be the PVC valve. Has anyone come across this noise? It is very hard to locate as its pitch makes it sound like its always coming from somewhere else, regardless of where you are.

 

Sounds like intake related.

 

What kind of intake do you have? These cars do making a turbo like whistling sound if you have a performance intake.....

its the ram air snorkel that makes that noise. dont worry about it.
