Taking off the rear camshaft position sensor on a 2002 Nissan Maxima!!
I have very little experience with mechanical issues with vehicles..I did all the research on the internet that there was, including all Nissan forums and youtube.. pretty much everything i could do without actually buying a service manual..No research actually led me to a step by step removal of the rear camshaft position sensor on my 2002 Nissan Maxima 3.5L V6. Although some of the research helped me identifying the rear(bank 1) sensor, none actually took me on a step by step instruction on how to take it out... so i will...
1. Take off engine cover
2. Identify the rear camshaft sensor... if you're on the driver's side of the car the bank 1 rear camshaft sensor will be on your right..It will have a green wire connector..You can find location diagrams on here if you look..
3. Remove the air intake hose.. U want actually have to take it completely off, just enough to move it out of the way so you'll have enough room to access the camshaft sensor.. you'll have to remove a total of 4 screws to accomplish this. You'll have to remove a smaller hose as well.. not sure what this hose is but it's connected to the air intake...
4. Now you'll have access to the rear camshaft sensor.. Use a 10mm wrench to unscrew the sensor..
5. Disconnect the green wire connector from the sensor.. The disconnect is on the bottom of the wire connector when connected to the sensor. Push IN, NOT DOWN, to slide it in to disconnect. You'll feel or hear it.. then pull the sensor out... It took me awhile to figure this out as i am a newby to this..
Next time it will take me just minutes to do this....

I just went to nissan and got it for 140, I'm going to napa for cheaper.
I need to remove bank 1 camshaft sensor, is there a write up or video on how to do this?
just called napa the one up the street has it for 77,41
I'm gonna take the nissan one back, too expensive.
