Possible engine, transmission, clutch issue

Ok guys here is the info..
I have a 02 SE 6 speed with 150k miles on it. The check engine light is on so if i need those codes to help diagnose better please let me know.

I have two different symptoms which might be the same issue.
first while i am driving in any gears it seems like while i am driving at normal speed and also when I in a higher gear then i should be (if i am in 3rd but should really be in 2nd) and start to get it enough gas to move it will just jerk. almost like if i were to pop the clutch in and out real fast the way the car would jerk. while this is happening the RPMs never change or anything that i notice. This has probably be happening for I would say the last 3-6 months 3000miles roughly.
( i know not the best description)

Then other issue I notice sometime when pull off from a light the car would go and then just jerk violently and then start moving again. I am not sure how else to describe it.

I plan to take it in to the dealership to look at it soon but wanted to get some ideas from you if first.

You need to get those codes and post them here. With pending codes, you need to start there. Have a place like Autozone scan the codes (usually for free) then report back here with what they are.

all I went to advanced autoparts today and the codes I received was 3 codes
first one
P0335
Crankshaft Position
Sensor A circuit Malfunction

second one was same thing but said "confirmed" under it

and third one said the same thing but "pending" under it.

Hope this helps.

Replace your CPS and clear the codes. That sensor is important because it controls your ignition timing, and telling your fuel injectors when to operate. It does all of this by reading where your engine is located while it is turning.

As the sensor begins to fail more, the engine can stall and stop running or won't even start.

Thank you very much for the information.

I have two questions for you on this.
1, is this something I can buy from advancedautoparts i see they have a couple of brands or do you recommend getting it from a nissan dealership?

2. Is this something you think i can do or do you recommend letting the dealership replace?

Thanks once again.

Buy one off of ebay...much cheaper.
Do it yourself...it's only held in by a couple of 10mm bolts...not sure on the '02 if there are 2 Crankshaft sensors so someone else chime in. I know on the 4th gens there are 2...POS and REF
