Repair key fob for $3.00

If you are having trouble with your key fob, I can tell you how to fix it. Purchase a small container of mineral oil from Wall-Mart for $2.00 and a package of 3 battery tea lights for $1.00 from Dollar Tree. Completely disassemble the key fob and you will find that one or more of the tiny switches are gummed and shut. Place the 4 pieces in a small cup of mineral oil. Leave overnight for best results. In the morning, clean all the parts using a toothpick and an ear swab. Work with the tiny switches until they begin to click using the toothpick.

Dry everything using paper towel. Reassemble and install the new battery with the positive side out. It is fine that the battery number does not match. You WILL be amazed that your key fob NOW WORKS. Don't buy a new one for $40.00. The cost of your easy repair is only $3.00.
