EGR Valve Temp Sensor Replacement

Has anyone experienced the tough task of replacing the EGR Valve Temperature Sensor? Apparently, there aren't ANY write ups or anything for replacing this sensor. In fact, for this forum to exist this long, I find it weird that there is no write up/detailed pics for this sensor, EGR valve, and even a decent alternator replacement thread. I have looked searched and eventually took due diligence outside of the org. I won't lie, but I am disappointed. Aside from that, how would retrieve this device for replacement? Would I have to remove the intake manifold?

Im pretty sure there are write-ups on both of theses ( even write-ups on upgrading to a higher amperage ALT. from a Murano) i have not had to replace EGR valve temp. sensor, but im pretty sure you can get to it by removing your throttle body and intake easily, if im not mistaken its dead center of the egr guide tube travelling from the valve to the manifold, if its all corroded and gunked up it could be hard to crack loose without removing the manifold. You could always download the FSM thats floating around here on 100's of threads, every "writeup" and diagnosis procedure you would ever need.

I appreciate it user, but I have already tried looking everything up. To no avail, there is no write-up available. The egr valve and tube was already removed by myself. I just never thought I would have to remove the intake manifold. It looks to be very difficult to remove that just to get to the egr temp sensor. Still too surprised that there are no detailed write ups and walkthrough for the egr valve, valve temperature sensor and alternator replacement. Unfortunately, I can't do it myself.

i'm assuming you have a 2000 since the 01-03 have no egrs. If you don't know how to change an egr sensor, maybe you should not be working on car since it one of the simplest of tasks, nothing compared to changing an alternator on our cars. the egr temp sensor is located on the egr tube with a wire coming out of it. Disconnect the wire plug that sits on the throttle body, use the appropriate socket or combination wrench to undo the tem sensor, install in reverse order. You might have to remove the air cleaner assembly but that is easy to do.

their was a few diy alternator thread with pics that i've seen on the org, I don't have the time right now to look them up though.

good luck with your projects.

BTW, why do you have to remove the egr temp sensor, over the many years working on maximas, I have never had to replace that sensor. I only had the cel code for that sensor once and it was not the sensor that was bad but the wire harness that needed repair. that was a quick 5 minute fix.

I said nothing about replacing the egr valve. Just stated that there are no write ups or anything that should be on a forum this big. Gave up on the temp sensor, re-installed the alternator, egr valve, and everything else associated now we are fully operational. Thanks for the response, though.

The egr temp sensor wire is broke at the actual sensor going into the egr pipe. Is there a way to fix this? I hate to spend $160 for a new one
