Price of 02 SE 6-speed

Right now i own a 4th gen maxima and looking to get a 5th gen. I found an 02 6 speed that has 221000 miles on it, one of the rims is cracked, and there is some play in the clutch but nothing serious. The guy is asking $3200 for it and right now we are negotiating and he is down to $2500. The car does have some wear and tear on it but it nothing terrible. Is $2500 a good price for a 5th gen 6 speed with that many miles?

$1,500 cash...

There's a good chance you're going to have to put a couple grand into it within a year or two.

to me, if it was fairly well maintained mechanically, $2500 isnt bad at all, its not great, but not bad either, $1500 would be GREAT, BUT it all depends on how the car presents itself

charlotte rust isnt normally a problem, not huge hills or anything, was it an in town drive car, or was it a highway cruiser? in town miles are 2-3x worse on wear/tear than highway miles. Any mods? (im new to maxima's so im not sure how the mods really effect wear/tear on the car itself) how much oil does it use between oil changes would be the only other question providing it doesnt grind going into any gears.

I couldn't get any takers on my 02 SE auto with 135,000 miles at $3500. Not even a single phone call. Kbb over values them in the $4000+ range but the market appears to be in the $2000 to $2500 range. At those miles, I agree, $1500 maximum.

It's tough selling an auto. Now if it were a 6 speed, you would have got your asking price with no problem.
