02 maxima starting troubles

Ok I have a 02 max with 205k on it, I went out this morning and it was very difficult to start, It cranked over and sputtered and that was it, then I had to crank it for a few about 5 to 10 seconds til it finally started it was sputtering and knocking and the rpms were really really low for a few min. after it warmed up it runs and drives fine and started fine after that. Also It has sat for 4 days. Any help will be appreciated.

Was that just a one-time thing and it's been fine ever since, or has it been misbehaving like this every start since then?

It has done this 2 or 3 times, only after it has sat for a few days. It starts fine during the day.

how old is the battery?

I'd have the battery load tested at a reputable shop for $20.

Easiest/cheapest thing to do is check your battery. Start there first. I would also pull some plugs and do a visual check. It could be your crank position sensor. It could be number of other things. Hard to pinpoint

I am having the exact same problems. It is worse when it is raining or damp outside. The code that was pulled was for a MAF and a IAT sensors. I replaced the MAF back in the spring of last year. I bought a good one from NAPA. I am going to replace it again and see if that fixes it. When its fixed and running right its getting sold. Parts are just way to expensive for Nissans.

Forgot to post that my car has been running in a limp mode. WHat this does if you are unfamiliar with limp mode, is it makes the car run rich and it limits the RPM's. My car will not rev past 2500RPM. This is the exact same problem it had before I replaced the MAF the first time. After replacement, the car ran perfect.
